Welcome Families

Welcome to Sol y Luna, where we’re devoted to creating enriching, transformative experiences for families of all shapes and sizes.

In today’s fast-paced world, nurturing and sustaining relationships can feel like an uphill journey—especially with children in the mix. It requires unwavering commitment, thoughtful planning, and abundant resources to carve out cherished moments of connection as partners, while also meeting the demands of raising our beloved kids.

Yet the reality is clear: traditional relationship structures are faltering, and the impact is often felt most acutely by our youth. Children experience the effects of fractured relationships, often marked by decreasing commitment, empathy, passion, and love.

Let the statistics tell the story:

  • The marriage rate in the U.S. has declined by nearly 60% in the last 50 years, dropping from 76.5% in 1970 to over 31% in 2023. (National Center for Family & Marriage Research)

  • 37.6% of all marriages in the U.S. end in divorce—one out of every three married couples. (Institute for Family Studies)

  • 85% of people cite a lack of commitment as the primary reason for divorce. (Bureau for Social Research, OSU)

  • 20% of couples separate within the first year of welcoming a newborn.

  • Nearly half of all children witness their parents’ marriage dissolve. (CDC)

  • 21% of children in America are raised without their fathers. (Census Bureau)

  • 28.6% of single mothers live in poverty. (U.S. Census Bureau)

  • Children whose parents divorce when they’re between seven and 14 are more likely to experience behavioral challenges. (Marripedia)

  • Children with divorced parents are twice as likely to attempt suicide. (Science Daily)

  • Children with divorced parents are four times as likely to struggle with social integration. (City University of New York)

  • Teens whose parents divorce are more likely to encounter mental health issues. (Verywell Family)

  • Therapists note that some children of divorced parents may develop resilience as a positive personality trait. (GoodTherapy)

  • 70% of prison inmates serving long-term sentences grew up in broken homes. (U.S. Department of Justice)

  • Children of divorced parents face a higher risk of poverty and are twice as likely to drop out of high school. (MDRC, National Library of Medicine)

Which of these figures speaks to you and sparks the desire for change?

For parents of young children, the painful reality is that 20% of couples separate within a year of welcoming a newborn. What leads to these heartbreaking outcomes?

Research shows that intimacy fades, communication breaks down, and conflicts multiply, contributing to separation.

Becoming a parent is a life-altering journey. The moment we cradle our newborn, we forge an unbreakable bond and a promise to protect and guide them. But where does the passion go over time? When does the spark fade? And how do we end up in conflicts that echo into our children’s lives?

Moving from individual care to a relationship of partnership and parenthood is profound, opening doors to new layers of self-discovery. Consider the insights that emerge when life shifts from “just us” to the intricate dance of family.

At Sol y Luna, we understand the complexities of parenthood and relationships. Founded by a mother who has weathered both harmonious and challenging times, we know what it takes to build thriving connections.

“It takes a village to raise a child,” as the adage goes—and we live by this truth. We’re dedicated to providing a space where couples with children can nurture their relationships, while children play, learn, and connect with their peers.

Sol y Luna is more than just a sanctuary; it’s a community for healing, growth, and deeper connection, especially for those navigating the complex path of parenthood.

Kids Camp at Sol y Luna Festival

In creating this safe space for families, our Sol y Luna Kids Camp is guided by dedicated kids-activity facilitators selected for their experience, presence, and genuine care for children. Each facilitator is reviewed and approved to ensure alignment with our values of safety, embodiment, respect, and conscious community.

While our Kids Camp team leads playful, creative, grounded activities, Sol y Luna Festival operates through shared responsibility:

👉 Parents are required to volunteer 90 minutes per child, per day
at the Kids Camp to support our village-style community container.

This shared model ensures a balanced, safe, and heart-centered environment where children feel supported, parents feel connected, and the entire camp thrives as a unified family space.

Our Kids Camp facilitators create nurturing spaces for connection, creativity, movement, and nature-based exploration—always inside a non-sexual, trauma-informed environment that honors the innocence, sovereignty, and emotional well-being of every child.

If you’re a couple with children—or a single parent—we warmly invite you to join us. Reserve your family tickets today and begin your journey toward rekindled relationships, deeper connections, and enduring family bonds.

Sol y Luna festival was a deep dive into conscious BDSM and tantra kink for me! As a bodyworker and coach, practicing tantra and BDSM only privately before, I was inspired to expand my practice and share more with the world.

Sol Y Luna expanded my heart and uplifted my soul. I can be very picky about where I feel safe enough to be sexy or to reveal my vulnerability. I felt supported to do so without any pressure. Thank you!

I came to make a deep connection and you all created a container that allowed for a richly playful space that felt safe.
